Three Canadian Hyundai dealership employees have risen to the top of the automaker’s international sales and service skills competitions.

Based in St. Catharines, ON, Performance Hyundai Automotive Technician, Andrew Strati, won a silver medal at the World Skills Olympics in Seoul, South Korea at the end of October after winning the National Skills Competition in Canada the month prior.

Strati’s performance was shortly followed by Performance Hyundai Sales and Leasing Consultant, Mary-Lou Slobodian, and Hyundai de Lanaudière (based in Joliette, QC) Représentant, Léo Plante, both placing in the top-10 at the Hyundai Global Sales Consultant Championship.

Out of 42 participating markets, Canada was the only country to have two representatives place in the top-10 of the sales championships.

“As Hyundai engineers have relentlessly devoted themselves to improving both the quality and desirability of our vehicles, so too have Hyundai dealership staff invested in delivering the best customer sales and service experience possible,” said Steve Kelleher, President and CEO of Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. “Whether it’s a sales or service customer, there are a few common expectations that have to be met. Customers want prompt, courteous attention from a dealership employee that addresses their needs and does so in a timely, efficient manner. That the three Canadians we sent to global skills competition came back among the leaders of their international peers demonstrates the level of dedication and commitment to excellence we have in the staff at Hyundai dealerships.”
